Immersive Learning

Immersive learning is actively applying knowledge into practice through meaningful and engaging experiences, connecting the real-world through education, and this is happening in every single one of our courses, both in and out of the classroom.

Why is this important?

Because learning by doing is more effective than learning by listening. This allows you to grow your analytical and creative thinking skills, build flexibility and resilience, increase leadership and empathy aptitudes, and improve communication and collaboration capabilities. All of these matter for helping you to achieve your future career goals (World Economic Forum Future Jobs Report, 2023).

96% of graduates are employed or in grad school within one year of graduation.

What is Immersive Learning?

Immerse yourself in the field of study you love with simulations, explorations, and study-abroad trips. Depending on your major, immersive learning will show up in a variety of ways such as active research projects, internships, professional interviews, guest speakers and workshops, case studies, virtual and augmented realities, excursions to museums, symphonies, and the zoo. You will love learning at Peace!

Study Abroad

Our students experience a variety of different cultures around the globe through study abroad trips to places such as Paris, Rome, Mexico, Qatar, and much more! Learn more about Peace’s Study Abroad opportunities.

Student Research

Have an idea for helping the world? Our students actively engage in research and participate in forums such as the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) and the State of NC Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS).

Showcase

Twice a year, third- and fourth-year students share their research, work, ideas, and internships in a conference-style event called Showcase. There are no classes on Showcase day; instead, all students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend and learn from our amazing students. The content varies based on what students are doing, but often includes panels, presentations, musical performances, poetry, game design, debates, cross-disciplinary creative projects, and much more.

Peace Produce

In 2024, William Peace University launched Peace Produce, a hydroponic farm that presents myriad immersive learning opportunities. The farm is a partnership with Produce Purpose Inc. and Freight Farms, a hydroponic technology company.
