Residential Life

You can expect more than just a place to relax in between classes or catch up on sleep – living here is an opportunity to engage others, learn in the community, and thrive in downtown Raleigh.

That’s why we have a three-year residency requirement. Learning and living in a diverse community of peers on campus is a transformative experience that will prepare you for a successful career and life.

moving in: items to bring TO CAMPUS

Returning Residents

  • Returning Students that have followed re-entry testing protocols and are cleared to move in from Health Services may move in to campus beginning Friday, January 15, 2021 through Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
  • Students who would like to return to campus between Friday, January 15, 2021 through Tuesday, January 19, 2021  but need to be tested on campus, must arrive during one of the designated testing times: Friday, January 15 from 10am-3pm, Saturday, January 16 from 10am-2pm, Tuesday, January 19 from 10am-2pm.
    • Please note: if you plan to get tested on campus, you must report to the Testing Clinic Tent (located in the Main Parking Lot)  before you go to your room.  If you test positive, you will not be able to go to your room and you must return home for your isolation period.  For this reason, it is recommended that you test before you return to campus so you can avoid the possible inconvenience of not being able to move-in
    • Please follow the steps provided by Health Services to sign up for testing.
  • Any Returning resident who delays their return to campus due to virtual classes will only be allowed to move in on the following dates: Friday, February 5, 2021 or Saturday, February 6, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
    • Pacer Card access will not be turned on until those dates for students who do not move in by Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
New Residents
  • New Residents that have followed re-entry testing protocols will move in on Sunday, January 17, 2021 as indicated in your Residence Life and Housing move-in email. Please follow directions as provided from the Residence Life staff.
There will be no residential move-in Wednesday, January 20, 2021-Thursday, February 4, 2021 to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our campus community.
