William Peace University (Peace) is part of a new effort to make it easier for students to enroll.
A new direct admissions program offers eligible high school seniors immediate acceptance to schools through the North Carolina Independent Colleges & Universities (NCICU). Peace is among 36 independent colleges and universities in North Carolina that make up the NCICU.
Direct Admissions programs simplify the college application process for high school seniors with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or higher. Students complete a five-minute application via NCICU — with no application fee. Among the 36 NCICU campuses, Peace is one of 26 taking part in the Direct Admissions program.
After applying, students will receive information directly from the school of their choice. The program widens college access to students in North Carolina, said Kristine Shay, assistant vice president of Admissions at Peace.
“We’re thrilled to make it easier and less stressful for students to apply to William Peace University,” Shay said. “Further, hearing from schools from across North Carolina that you are already admitted to widens a student’s options and opens up new opportunities they may not have considered.”
The NCICU will instead share information directly with high school counselors, principals and superintendents and others to spread word about the program.
Peace also offers direct admission to students identified as eligible.
