Elizabeth Condall spent almost two and a half years at Wake Tech Community College before transferring to William Peace University.
Condall, who moved from Connecticut to Raleigh as a teenager, found the higher education transfer very smooth thanks to the helpful people at William Peace University.
“It was actually super simple, super easy,” Condall said. “The [admissions counselor] who helped me made everything really smooth. We talked about stuff for scholarships and financial aid. He broke everything down for me.”
Soon, college students from all over will hope for a smooth transition like Condall experienced.
National Transfer Student Week is October 21-25, organized to celebrate transfer students and the people who support them. Peace is offering special appointments that week for potential transfer students, to make sure their questions are answered.
Condall was one of several students who have participated in The Peace Pathway, a pipeline between Wake Tech and Peace.
Peace transfers don’t just come from community colleges. Some come from other four-year universities. Regardless of where they started their journey, finding their next home at Peace is a smooth transition, said admissions counselor Kaitlyn Murphy.

WHY Peace?
Condall reasons for choosing William Peace University were pretty straightforward; She wanted to attend a smaller school close to home.
“Once I toured, it felt familiar to me,” Condall said. “I don’t like big classes and things like that.”
Condall, a communications major, took a few classes at N.C. State and recalls feeling overwhelmed sitting in a lecture hall with 300 other students.
Once she enrolled, Condall discovered a fantastic support system to help her adjust to college life, like the Center For Student Success.
“They make that stuff easily available to you,” Condall said. “I think if you’re new to a school, it’s easy to act shy and not talk to people who will help you. But everyone was super easy to locate.”
Another favorite of Condall’s during the transfer process? She was able to take a personal tour and get an intimate feel for the campus.
“I think it’s nice that Peace lets you tour the school whenever you want, essentially,” Condall said. “A lot of schools you can only tour in the fall. I toured with my mom. I saw what the school looked like, it was empty, but it was way more comforting.”
